Counseling for Adults
Nearly everyone experiences a time in their life when they feel like they could use a little help from an accepting, nonjudgmental source. Life sometimes brings challenges that can make a person feel “stuck,” hopeless, or like they don’t have control over their own life. It may be the lingering wounds of a past experience or trauma, or they may have recently suffered a major loss in their life. A client may be struggling in relationships or working to overcome maladaptive habits or addictions. They may simply want assistance in remembering the person they once were, or in discovering who it is they’ve always wanted to be.
Lindsay works with individuals to identify and cultivate their strengths and personal resources in order to improve their ability to cope with the day-to-day stressors, as well as the bigger, life-altering ordeals.
Lindsay’s training and experience has equipped her to assist with the following concerns, among others:
• Stress, anxiety and panic attacks
• Depression
• Substance use or addiction (including tobacco cessation)
• Grief (including, specifically, the loss of a beloved pet)
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress
• Deficiencies in anger management or coping skills
• Low self-esteem and negative self-talk
• Obsessive-compulsive behaviors
• LGBTQ-related concerns
• Relationship struggles or divorce recovery
• Parent-child difficulties
• Suicidal thoughts or temptations
